About

A madrasah built on structure and care.

Al-Madinah Schools provides structured Islamic education for children aged 4–16 across the UK.

Our Approach

How we teach.

A child who can read Arabic script can read the Qur’an for the rest of their life, so that comes first and everything else is built on it. Qur’an, Arabic and Islamic Studies are taught as three parts of one thing, and children work at a level that matches where they actually are.

What Guides Us

Character first.

The Prophet ﷺ told us that he was sent to perfect good character. That applies to our teachers before it applies to any child in the room. Good akhlaq is what we want a child to leave us with, alongside everything that they’ve learnt.

Core Principles

What we hold ourselves to.

The principles behind our teaching.

Correct Foundations

Strong emphasis on accuracy and proper understanding before progression.

Structured Progression

Clear levels and outcomes so parents know where their child is heading.

Character First

Good akhlaq is part of what we look to teach, not something we hope comes with it.

Ability-Based Placement

Students grouped by competency, ensuring appropriate pace and challenge.

Traditional Methods

Talqīn and classical approaches combined with clear organisation.

Trust Through Clarity

Transparent communication about curriculum, progress, and expectations.
